About

Basic Training Certificate is a two-year professional programme of teaching education. BTC is a mandatory training certificate required for those planning to teach in govt. primary schools. It aims to prepare teachers for imparting primary (elementary Stage) education, i.e. Classes 1 to 8

Among the diverse eligibility criteria, the most important one to get admission in any of the Basic Teacher Training colleges in the nation is the successful completion of higher secondary or 10+2 level of examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from a recognized University in any stream. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in their bachelor’s or master’s degree. There is a 5% relaxation for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
